Chris Mollenkamp

President

Chris Mollenkamp has lived in Riverside for two years. His daughter is currently a senior at Excelsior Charter School-Corona campus. His eldest son graduated from the Victorville campus in 2011. Chris holds a BA in Business Management and has worked in the transportation and logistics field for the past 30 years. Previous to that, he taught middle school and high school social sciences for four years in Hesperia at New Life Christian Academy. His community involvement includes the following:

Navid McCarthy

Board Member

Navid joined Excelsior Charter Schools in 2001 as a Math teacher and during her career at Excelsior held the positions of lead mentor, Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Deputy Superintendent. She retired from Excelsior in 2017.

Navid holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Iowa, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. She also holds a California clear teaching credential in math and a supplementary credential in physical science in addition to a clear leadership credential.

Terrance Stone

Board Member

Terrance L. Stone is Founder/President/ CEO of Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy and C.E.O. of Stone Consultants, International Gang Expert, Trainer and Speaker has served as a youth counselor and graduated Cal State LA for State Certified Gang Intervention Specialist, serves on Committees with the San Bernardino County Sherriff and San Bernardino City Chief of Police, Executive Board Member and Chair of the San Bernardino Countywide Gangs and Drugs Task Force, Past Board Member of the Southern California African American Chamber of Commerce, and San Bernardino Chapter NAACP, trained with San Bernardino City Police Department on the train the trainer course “Principled Policing” and also chosen by past Mayor of San Bernardino Pat Morris to join his office on the California Cities Gang Prevention Network. He is committed to steering young peo¬ple away from the life that cost him much of his precious youth. In essence, Terrance is allowing his life mistakes to help others discover their personal worth and true-life purpose. Stone’s change in heart, spir¬it and action has resulted in his reaching over 35,000 at risk youth he is now CEO of Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy multiple locations in the Inland Empire and growing. Stone’s sincere efforts have result¬ed in his receiving multiple awards.

Dave Schlesinger

Parent Board Member

Dave and his family are long-time residents of the Inland Empire and his youngest child is a junior at the Corona campus. He is a War On Terrorism medal recipient, a certified project manager and a nationally recognized training, management, transportation, and safety expert. He has over twenty years of progressive experience at the local and federal public sector levels as well as in private industry. Dave invests in the next generation as a guest lecturer for the College of Engineering, Cal Poly Pomona. He co-conducts, with the Federal Railroad Administration, highly interactive and empirical lectures on human factors and engineering. Dave is the Chair of the Rail Transportation Division within the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, as well as the Safety and Security Track Chair for the Joint Rail Conference. Dave has a long history of volunteer involvement and leadership, including as a manager, trainer and crisis responder for the Mayor’s Office, City of Los Angeles, holding rail safety presentations for Operation Lifesaver, and helping guide the developing the Strategic Plan for the Alvord School District. Dave holds a BS in Business from the University of Southern California and an MS in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, travel, and photography.
